A new announcement was made for the game, which is in the long-running construction phase and the release date is not certain. I've been playing the same savefile in Mount and Blade Warband for over a year. I have become ruler of my own faction, called the Swadian Rebels because I once supported Lady Isolla's claim on the crown of Swadian. Isolla isn't even in the game anymore, because I told her I wouldn't support her goal anymore. I ended up as part of the Nord kingdom for a long time, but eventually I went independent, with 4 towns that were all mine. Now I have 8 towns.
I've been at war with everyone but the Vaegirs for a long time. I've got a massive prison complex in Dhirim, where I now have three Kings imprisoned and a ton of other lords, and over 600 enemy troops. I've got plenty of prisoners elsewhere too.
My 'honor' in the game is nearing the max negative. My character is basically a supervillain with expert archery skills. Even my own vassals hate my guts, except for the three lords that I gave a lot of land too. They are my henchmen, and they each have much bigger armies than mine. (350 troops. My max is up to 148 now at level 38)
I have so much gold, I don't really care about it anymore. I've got all of the best armor, and the best bow and sword possible. I don't release any of my prisoners for money.
I have focussed on taking out the Nords, and its happened very slowly, I have finally got them down to just 1 Town and 0 castles left. But a ton of nobles are bunkered up in there.
One thing I noticed in very late game Mount & Blade Warband is a large number of nobles who are unpopular with every faction and are constantly shifting around to another kingdom. Each new kingdom takes them in even though they know they'll be gone very soon. I see about 4 or 5 nobles changing factions about every minute.

I get ambushed all of the time when I'm going to taverns or the marketplace. I can shrug off a lot of arrows with my armor.
I recently got attacked by a swarm of 170 Sea Raiders in 8 different groups, that were all moving together.
I've started keeping two different armies ready. One army is all cavalry and can absolutely crush anyone in the field. The other army is for sieges, and is all foot soldiers and expert archers. I keep one in a town and swap them out when I need to.
